Heavy Metal Heaven – 3.5/5 – When Darkness Calls Album Review

Reverence – When Darkness Calls
Pretty much all the fans of “Savatage” will probably be remembered best nor the former drummer of the band.
“Steve-Dr. Kill Drums Wachholz his name brought such brilliant works such as “Hall Of The Mountain King” and the more the right bite.
Now he is back with a NEW band called “Reverence”.
But not only his name is a player in the band, because that by 2009 the NWOBHM band “Tokyo Blade” belonging to guitarist “Bryan Holland”, and “Jack Starr singer” Todd Michael Hall “are certainly no strangers to the scene .Commandments, the listener relatively considerable power metal, but does not hang the obligatory, but not boring.
A good mix so that can enjoy the friend of this division of the hard sounds.
With the title song “When Darkness Calls” to set represents a good introduction to the album and immediately convinces with good guitar parts that make you want more.
Also striking in the same Kärbe “Bleed For Me” and “Phantom Road” to defend the positive aspect.
However, this is not entirely for the subsequent “Devil In Disguise”, which comes along somewhat tersely.
And “Too Late” will ignite but not quite what of “gatekeepers” and “The Price You Pay” not at all to say.
The latter in particular is becoming a real mid-tempo bangers, which is worth to be heard repeatedly.
It continues with “Monster” (the name says it all) and “Revolution Rising”, which like its predecessor is an absolute privilege to be immortalized on the plant.
With the power ballad “After The Leaves Have Fallen” the guys still make fast before another peak, which became after the first listen to one of my favorites on the album.
The closing “Vengeance Is Mine”, however, falls over before it is heard from huge and there remains only a gutklassiger song that although certainly does not hurt, however, but is also no real highlights. The men of “Reverence” have with their entry into the Power Metal ranks with “When Darkness Calls” creates a long iron that quite find his friends is because even if not every song ignites the same, can still be done by listening very well, even if ultimately the question will remain in the room, whether the consumer now spends his money or not.
But that can, as always, everyone has to decide for himself.
In any case, “When Darkness Calls” worth a listen!
