Reverence released his second album called Gods of War.

The band features some American metal veterans with vocalist Todd Michael Hall (Riot V, Jack Starr), guitarist Bryan Holland (Tokyo Blade, Arrest), drummer Steve ‘Doc Killdrums’ Wacholz (Savatage, Crimson Glory), guitarist Pete Rossi (Overland, Sanxtion) and new bassist Michael Massie.

Reverence rings true heavy metal. They work from the base of this great genre. The songs consist of melody and harmony, whether the double guitar or the vocal arrangements. Then there are heavy metal riffs explosions from these same double guitars and also a powerful rhythm section. That, in turn, also provides rock groove and power. The pace of Reverence is more to the side power metal. All songs are marked by explosive guitar solos. Hall joins his voice rising above the fray. You can call it basic, but that’s the formula. This is how is the true heavy metal.

Todd shares a flat with a significant deployment of riffs and solos focusing a very solid rhythm section that goes out the themes of “Gods of War”, starting with what the title of the work and presenting a heavy rhythm but inserting sharp vocals and guitar with power, increasing the pace with “Heart Of Gold”, which could very well fit in RIOT discography with guitar riffs and melodic made very marked by the powerful Wacholz.

In “Until My Dying Breath” fits pace with the bottom Massie very similar or equal to the rhythmic allowing the colored increases in a more arrogant Todd, more melodic, but no less powerful in cutting “Angel In Black” with some throwback to JUDAS PRIEST / PRIMAL FEAR in their striking guitars, as more hard and dense in “Tear Down The Mountain”, or motivating “Blood Of Heroes” adorned with a slight progressive layer.

More speed and aggressiveness in the powerful “Battle Cry” with a killer riff and a very strong voice but controlled Todd competing with sweeping guitars Holland and Rossi that unfolds in a tremendous solo again remind the RIOT, approaches more hard on “Choices Made” featuring drummer Lorenzo Gonzalez (TOKYO BLADE, Overloaded) is mainly characterized by its great melodies in the chorus, which relax the power ballad “Splinter” for showcasing expressive voice of Todd.

By the end leave two good songs, rhythmic and powerful “Cleansed By Fire” again the choirs to take the role very essence of the 80s, and ‘Race To Obscene “melodic coolness where the technique and rhythm highlight in a heavier cadence which is illuminated worked with his guitar solos.

Good end to a job in the middle may have some densest parts and heavy, but overall provides very good times for fans of the most powerful and classic American power.
